Bringing Harmony to Your School Community: Counseling Strategies In Action

In this interactive webinar, a facilitator from Harmony Academy at National University will introduce the Harmony Curriculum—a free, research-informed set of social-emotional learning resources designed to help schools foster healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and inclusive learning environments.

Through demonstrations, the session will model counseling-centered strategies drawn from the Harmony Curriculum that support students’ relationship development and overall well-being, including techniques for emotional regulation, conflict mediation, and relationship-building.

The webinar will highlight how school counselors can apply these strategies across their comprehensive school counseling programs, including individual and small-group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, and collaborative work with teachers and school staff. Participants will see practical, adaptable examples of how Harmony-aligned practices can be embedded into existing systems to strengthen a positive, respectful, and connected school climate.

Participants will be able to:

• Describe the focus and purpose of the Harmony Curriculum, including how it supports students’ social-emotional development, relationships, and sense of belonging.

• Learn counseling-centered strategies that can be used in individual counseling, small-group interventions, classroom lessons, and collaborative schoolwide supports.

• Identify practical ways to integrate Harmony-aligned practices into comprehensive school counseling programs to promote student well-being and a positive, inclusive school environment.

Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Professional Development CPDUs will be available for participants who attend the full session.

Attendees who participate in the full session will be eligible to receive IDFPR-approved CEUs for LPC, LCPC, LSW, and LCSW licensure.
