Back by popular demand! Kimberly Silvey, Ed.S., returns to ISCA for the next installment in our School-Based Medicaid learning series.
Building on the foundational information shared during our previous Lunch & Learn, this practical follow-up workshop will take a deeper dive into what school counselors and school teams need to know to document services effectively and support successful Medicaid claiming.
Participants will explore documentation requirements, medical necessity, compliant language, common documentation pitfalls, and strategies for strengthening documentation practices within their schools and districts. Kimberly will translate the requirements into practical, real-world guidance that you can take back to your school or district and put into practice.
Participants will:
Identify the key documentation components needed to support Medicaid claiming for eligible school counseling services.
Apply documentation best practices using clear, accurate, and compliant language.
Recognize common documentation errors and compliance risks that can lead to denied claims or audit findings.
Develop strategies for strengthening documentation practices through collaboration with administrators, special education staff, and Medicaid billing personnel.
This workshop isn't just for school counselors! Administrators, special education staff, Medicaid/billing personnel, and other school-based professionals involved in service delivery and documentation are encouraged to attend.
Bring your team and learn together! Your $99 team registration includes up to four participants from your school. The team point of contact must be an active ISCA member, while the additional team participants may be either ISCA members or non-members. The ISCA member serving as Point of Contact for the team, must submit the Team Registration Form in order for other attendees to be included in communications. If you have more than four in your group, register individually or form another Team Registration.
Kimberly has extensive experience in special education, school administration, and School-Based Medicaid.
